The Flirting Style of the ENTJ Personality Type
Determined. Ambitious. Confident. These three words often describe the ENTJ personality type. Because of their intellectual prowess and boldness they are often appealing or even intimidating to other types. There’s always a sense that nothing could scare them, rattle them, or be too challenging for them to take on. Think Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek or Harvey Specter from Suits.
Their intelligence, wit, and confidence is usually what makes them sexy.
I mean. If you like that kind of thing (Wait…does anyone not like that kind of thing?)
Typically, if an ENTJ likes you, they won’t beat around the bush. They’ll let you know. But first, they have to know where your values lie and what matters to you on a personal level. Many ENTJs I’ve spoken with have said they wish they could get “resumes” from potential love interests (and give them in return) just to be efficient. However, they’re aware enough of social protocol to realize this wouldn’t go over well.
I mean, can you imagine sitting down for a date and being asked what skills you bring to the table, or how you failed or succeeded in your last relationship? Maybe not such a great ice-breaker.
Here are a few of the ways that you can tell if an ENTJ is flirting with you…

#1 – They’ll Try to Get to Know You On a Personal, Deep Level
No-nonsense and logical, you might think that ENTJs don’t care a lot about your emotions or personal feelings. Wrong. In a relationship, they want to know that the person they’re dating has integrity, depth, vision, and goals. They’ll want to know what makes you happy, sad, and gives your life a sense of meaning. They’ll blow past all the small talk and really try to get to the core of your being.
“What’s the meaning of your life?”
“Where do you want to be in ten years?”
“What makes you happiest?”
Don’t be thrown off by the direct, probing nature of their questions. The more confident you are in your answers, and the more honest (even if it means being vulnerable) the more you’ll impress them.
#2 – They’ll Intellectually Spar with You
ENTJs are attracted to people who spark their curiosity and mental stamina. A lively debate lifts their spirits and gets them thinking strategically, which is all good fun for them. While you might be taken aback by their argumentative nature, they see it as an intriguing power play that can reveal layers of your brain they find attractive and sexy. It’s key not to take their intellectual arguments personally. Realize that having these kinds of debates is a way that they get into flow, and it’s also one of their ways of connecting with people personally.
#3 – They’ll Try Extra Hard to Make You Laugh
If an ENTJ likes you, chances are they’ll try to capture you with their dry wit and playful teasing. Winks, intelligent humor, and even silly plays on words will show up as they try to make you giggle.
“Did you hear about the Buddhist who refused Novocaine during a root canal? His goal: transcend dental medication.”
Brace yourself. If you’re in a relationship with an ENTJ, they’ll show you a silly side that they rarely show others.
#4 – They’ll Try to Solve Your Problems
ENTJs can be rather selective about who they spend their time with. Task-oriented and typically busy, they don’t give up their time to just anyone. If they drop their projects to be with you, chances are they really like you. If you call them and interrupt them while they’re working and they seem happy rather than irritated, chances are they like you.
When an ENTJ likes you, they’ll stop at nothing to help you. They’ll ask you about your goals and try to strategize the best ways for you to get there. They’ll show up when you’re in a crisis and find effective ways to circumvent the problem. More than emotional touchy-feely responsiveness, they’ll try to fix whatever is causing you stress or worry. When ENTJs care about someone, they try to show it through action more than words. So pay attention to what they’re doing to show you they care.
