10 ENFJ Anime Characters

  1. All Might from My Hero Academia

In typical ENFJ fashion, All Might tailors his entire life around his vision: To be a symbol of peace and unite people in hope. All Might struggles to balance his long-term goals with his ceaseless need to help others, but he manages to unite his country in a feeling of optimism because they know he’s there. He is always thinking of the greater good in every decision he makes. What do the survivors need to see? If they need to see a smile to keep striving then he’ll give them a smile even if he’s terrified or in pain. His character embodies many of the most powerful and inspiring traits of the ENFJ.

  1. Tanjiro Kamado from Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)

Selfless and driven, Tanjiro will stop at nothing to defend his sister against those who would harm her. He knows the future looks bleak and every obstacle will be in his path, but he won’t let that stop him from his vision. He believes that the “impossible” can happen – that he will be able to find a cure that will change his sister from a demon into a human again. Tanjiro’s compassion, empathy, and patience with people (and demons) make his Extraverted Feeling side evident. Every decision he makes concerns the greater good and the needs of others. His ability to see past roadblocks and fight for his vision is evidence of his powerful intuition. He’s even able to understand that demons used to be human and show respect and sorrow for even the most villainous creatures he has slain.

  1. Emma from The Promised Neverland

Nearly everything Emma does is fueled by a deep and unrestrained love for others. Nobody can stop her from believing in her dream of rescuing every orphan from Grace Field House. In typical ENFJ fashion, she is normally kind-spirited and gentle unless someone threatens a loved one, in which case she becomes forceful and intimidating. Emma’s altruism, sympathy, and idealism guide her in every choice she makes. Like a typical ENFJ, she mentors and inspires others towards her vision. She connects easily and empathetically with others and gives the people around her a sense of purpose and potential.

  1. Iroh from Avatar: The Last Airbender

Iroh ENFJ

Generous, comforting, and wise, Uncle Iroh represents many of the best qualities of mature ENFJs. Iroh’s strategic nature shows his proficient use of Introverted Intuition, and his people-oriented, family-first perspective shows us just how powerful Extraverted Feeling can be. Iroh knows how to read people very well, even going so far as to flirt with various women during his travels! His wisdom and unique understanding of human motivations and needs make him an effective mentor throughout the series.

  1. Toru Oikawa from Haikyuu!!

Haikyuu ENFJ

Ambitious and one-track minded, Oikawa captures the determination and passion of the ENFJ. While volleyball isn’t necessarily the stereotypical ENFJ hobby, many ENFJs I’ve known personally have enjoyed it. If you look at the ENFJ mind, it really makes sense that they are so drawn to this sport. It gives them a chance to respond swiftly to the world around them, making use of their tertiary Extraverted Sensation (Se). It also allows them to inspire and unify their team (Extraverted Feeling) and strategically map out plays (Ni). Oikawa seems to innately know the inner workings of other people’s minds and can use this knowledge to cheer people up or intimidate them – and sometimes, confusingly, both.

  1. Mirio Togata “LeMillion” from My Hero Academia

Mirio Togata ENFJ

Inspiring and driven, Mirio Togata does whatever it takes to succeed so that he can help others. Much like All Might (another ENFJ from My Hero Academia), Togata wants to be a symbol of hope for the country he lives in. He often puts others first, pointing out their unique abilities and inspiring them to keep trying when they don’t believe in themselves. His insight about the quality and potential of others and his persuasive, supportive personality make him a must-watch for anyone trying to understand the ENFJ type.

  1. Jonathan Joestar from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure

Gentle and sympathetic, Jonathan Joestar strives to be a “true gentleman” and treat everyone with respect and compassion. Concerned with values and the welfare of others, Joestar overcomes the most daunting circumstances because of his affection for his friends and loved ones. But Joestar isn’t all heart and no head. His strategic prowess and insight comes in handy in many battles, showing his clear use of Introverted Intuition (Ni).

  1. Maes Hughes from Fullmetal Alchemist

Friendly and amicable (sometimes overly so), Maes Hughes will do whatever it takes to ensure the safety of the people close to him. Often appearing as a boisterous host who can’t take no for an answer, Hughes might seem all sweetness and smiles on the outside. Yet on the inside, he is a trustworthy, serious, and insightful military officer. He is often the first to notice patterns and act accordingly to circumvent a disaster. In battle situations he is calm and unflinching, keeping his eyes on his goal and doing what he can to protect others.

  1. Marco Bodt from Attack on Titan

Idealistic and visionary, Marco Bodt seems to grasp how events will unfold before others in his situation. In typical ENFJ fashion, Bodt puts the good of the group above his own interests and thereby earns the respect of his regiment. He is a strong judge of character, sensing people’s underlying motivations and schemes as well as their positive potential. His insight into human character helps him to be a peacemaker and resolve arguments so that his cadets can stay calm and ready during battle situations. Bodt gives us an excellent example of an ENFJ who can lead in chaotic or high-stress situations.

  1. Kanae Kocho from Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)

Kanae Kocho has a relatively small role in the Demon Slayer series, but it is no less crucial. She saves and later adopts Kanao Tsuyuri, a small child who was being abused by an older man in the streets. Through her insight and compassion, Tsuyuri eventually becomes an integral part of the Demon Slayer story. Like Tanjiro, also an ENFJ, Kanae Kocho hopes that someday humans and demons can live peacefully together. “As long as it’s given a chance, a person’s soul will open up. Don’t worry.” This line by Kanae Kocho demonstrates her idealism and belief in the power of compassion in shaping people’s futures.
