The Hogwarts House of Each Myers-Briggs® Personality Type
The ENFP – Most Likely Choice: Gryffindor
Second-Most Likely: Hufflepuff
As an ENFP you have a natural desire to stick up for the underdogs of the world. You hate seeing anyone mistreated and become fiery and outspoken in the defense of the oppressed. Your creative, adventurous soul is the perfect fit for Gryffindor, although you also might find a welcome home in Hufflepuff, where kindness and fairness prevail. The ENTP – Most Likely Choice: Slytherin
Second-Most Likely: Ravenclaw
According to Albus Dumbledore, Slytherin students were known for their cleverness, resourcefulness, determination, and a “certain disregard for rules.” If these words don’t describe an ENTP I don’t know what does! ENTPs will find their curiosity, ambition, and innovation prized in the Slytherin house. They also might enjoy debating theories and perplexing ideas in the Ravenclaw home as an alternative.
The INFP – Most Likely Choice: Hufflepuff
Second-Most Likely: Gryffindor
Kind-hearted and compassionate, you will find a welcome home in Hufflepuff, where empathy for the underdogs overcomes quests for power. You love Hufflepuff for its openness, honesty, and egalitarian nature. You thrive in this house because it prioritizes patience, kindness, and variety. Hufflepuff isn’t a place for “cliques” and bravado. It’s a place of honor, loyalty, and good-will – values that you strive to embody as an INFP.

The INTP – Most Likely Choice: Ravenclaw
Second-Most Likely: Slytherin
When I surveyed people about their Myers-Briggs type and their Hogwarts house, INTPs were the only type who all identified with one house: Ravenclaw. This comes as no surprise considering Ravenclaw is all about wisdom over ambition, curiosity over impulsiveness, and brains over brawn. INTPs like you will find your mind stimulated in this intellectual house where your eagerness to learn will finally be matched by others.

Contemplative, visionary, and creative – Ravenclaw is the perfect fit for your curious, deep-thinking mind. Hi!! I’m an INFP, and while I do believe many of us are perfectly suited for the Hufflepuff life, I personally feel that the other option should be Ravenclaw since we tend to be very bright, creative, and rather quirky like a true Ravenclaw! Also, the delightful Harry Potter character Luna Lovegood is an INFP and Ravenclaw!! Just thought I would get my two cents in!! I LOVE your website; your articles are ever so fascinating and thought-provoking!! Keep up the great work!! ^_^
As an INTJ, I have been sorted Ravenclaw and Slytherin Houses equally. I like how different charts have labelled Slytherclaw^Raverin.
Hello Susan !
I agree when you say ENFPs are likely to be Griffindor… but actually, I think Hufflepuff is a bit down-to-earth for them, so yes, they can have some things in common with them, but maybe not that much. For me, I am an ENFP… and totally Ravenclaw (and NO ONE will expell me from MY Hogwarts house 🙂 ). I suppose Hogwarts houses are more related to enneagram types, which would be logical if you consider that I am 4w5 (so, I guess, very close to INFPs, such as my dear Luna Lovegood <3). I like Griffindors a lot and have some Hufflepuff tendencies… anyway, I mentioned the ennegram because when it comes to be sorted, "it's not our abilities that show who we are, it's our choices"<3. I will always be a Ravenclaw, and just wanted to reassure some potterheads in an classical "house identity crisis".But maybe I'm the only one, because it's generally really accurate?Thank you very much for that article that mixes two of my passions :)!
Félicie
INFJ Gryffindor! Second choice would
Probably be Ravenclaw though. Definitely not Hufflepuff.
Cool ????, I am happy with my result (as an INFJ) ????
Now I would like to see a similar post that sorts mbti personality types into Game of Thrones houses … ????
Cheers
But — I’m INFP and I’m Ravenclaw
Me too!!! I imagine a lot of us are!! ^_^
It’s funny that all INTP are Ravenclaw but indeed that’s not a surprise, they’re exactly the same. Lazy cleverness. =D
I am an INFJ and when I first took the sorting quiz on Pottermore, it gave me Hufflepuff.
But then I kept seeing sources saying that I should re take the quiz again to get a more accurate house.
So I did.
I got Slytherin.
I re took it several times ???? because I couldn’t believe it.
Then the new sorting quiz came out and of all the times I took it I got Slytherin.
I am now a proud Slytherin.
????
ENFP and Gryffindor here. My husband is ISTJ and totally a Slytherin/Ravenclaw.
I’m INFP who was assigned Hufflepuff at Pottermore. However, my secondary House is Ravenclaw. It’s not really necessary for INFPs to be secondary Gryffindors to show courage in fighting for the underdog.
remember that in the Battle of Hogwarts, every single Hufflepuff stayed to fight alongside Gryffindor.
Besides, Ravenclaw is a good place for quirky types such as Luna Lovegood and INFPs. 🙂
I believe a lot of infjs are actually slytherins. Ni is very ambitious and determined function and many times is pushes away Fe.
I’m also an INFJ but I, actually, don’t agree with you because no matter how important and big our ambitions might be, empathy wins anyway. That’s another reason why INFJs are so rare. We put personal achievement on the second place and compassion on the first one.
I would love to see these findings presented graphically; it would greatly help me tease out the patterns.
Intps are super arrogant, always bend the rules and are intentionally deceptive.
Best one I’ve seen yet! Totally agree!
if only Slytherclaw exist, INTJ’s would directly sorted there. INTJ as a Ravenclaw is not completely true, so does Slytherin. INTJ mix both Ravenclaw and Slytherin’s personality. It can not be only a house. It will not describe us in the best way.
Honestly True. I think it’s kinda hard to find an INTJ that isn’t Ravenclaw or Slytherin.
I’m a proud INTJ Ravenclaw, but if ALL the houses could be in an order for everyone then I’d be Ravenclaw Primary, Slytherin Secondary, Hufflepuff tertiary then Gryffindor is my last house
I completely agree.
ISTP in Ravenclaw? Is this a joke. They cannot handle anything metaphysical or theoretical because they place little to no value for Ne. They are pragmatic, resourceful, down to earth, with intelligence that applies to the mastery of highly kinesthetic subjects. They value freedom. High Ti and Se is a much better fit for Hufflepuff, then Slytherin, then Gryffindor. An ISTP would go mental in Ravenclaw. I could argue against most of these but this is the most egregious.
So this is honestly been really fun reading about. I took the Myers Briggs test a few times and usually i get the same answer ENFP but once right after a semi-heated argument i took the test again and got ENTP and according to this. I was most likely Gryffindor second likely Hufflepuff and then became most likely Slytherin second likely Ravenclaw. I like to blame these odd occurrences on me being a Gemini. lol just thought I would share!
I´m an entj gryfferin, I always thought I was a slytherin but pottermore says gryffindor so…
I am a Ravenclaw but I’m ISTJ
Wow! I’m an INFJ-T and I have done the Hogwarts House test like a hundred times and, after my calculations, I’m 51%- Ravenclaw and 49%- Hufflepuff. Just like in the article!
Kinda disappointed at this, I got I’m INTP in a test and got Ravenclaw in another. I don’t really like that house nor Slytherin, lol 🙁
I love this. I’m an ISFP, and it was so hard to decide between Hufflepuff and Ravenklaw. I landed in Ravenklaw because I like learning and am afraid of plants, but I love this article!
Gryffindor’s my Hufflepuff relative to you. I was typed ISFP by an e-friend who’s really into this kind of thing. An ISFP who values intelligence can be Ravenclaw, as it fits Fi, due to the desire to be unique that goes with it. SP types do have creativity, as shown by the ISTP. The ISFP tends to be guided by values, if the ISFP’s values align with Ravenclaw…
I’m an INFP and my first house is Slytherin – second house being Ravenclaw. I would think because of our strong emotions and passion for being the best in our specific interests would make Slytherin an obvious choice. And our creativity and thirst for understanding would make Ravenclaw another obvious choice.
Infps are known for being empathatic, idealistic, and generous; the likes of which tend to be hufflepuff qualities. They also tend to lack the confidence and drive associated with slytherin.
exactly. i read this and guffawed at hufflepuff.
I am INTP and… I love Ravenclaw of course ❤️ I completely agree with this article – my second choice is Slytherin. I do not feel Hufflepuff – I believe you need to be SF to understand this House or?
I’m a infp and I could see myself in Hufflepuff or Gryffindor though I probably fit in more with Gryffindor with my outspoken nature.
This is the dumbest thing ever I am a Gryffindor I am not a Slytherin weirdos
I’m an INFP and definitely a Ravenclaw, though Hufflepuff would be my second choice
I’m an INFP enneagram 8 and every test I ever took placed me solidly in Gryffindor. Including the more comprehensive Time Life quiz that had every pottermore question on it. I’m a huge risk taker and brave as heck in life, so gonna have to disagree with being the divination teacher or being in Hufflepuff. That’s just not me as a person at all in real life. I’m a girl that fought off my mother’s attacker in my teens and the guy was an ex con/wife beater. I was 16 years old and female and I punched him in the face and had him thrown in jail myself. Somehow I can’t see any other house doing that stuff but Gryffindor. Perhaps enneagram types influence it? Because I have always been more of a Dirty Harriet type rather than a Professor Trelawney 😂.
